Richard (Dick) Godfrey

Dick is the husband of Pastor Gerry Godfrey and is an ordained pastor in the Church of the Brethren. He has been in ministry for over 25 years and is currently serving as interim minister here at Hanover Church of the Brethren while the church searches for a new full-time pastor.

Dick and Gerry have been married for 53 years and have two children and 6 grandchildren. Some of Dick’s hobbies include kayaking, reading and lawn mowing.

Pastor Geraldine (Gerry) Godfrey came to the Hanover COB in February of 2008. She had previously been the Pastor of Nurture at the Mechanic Grove COB in Lancaster County for eleven years.  As of January 2022, Pastor Gerry has retired from full-time ministry and will now serve the congregation as the Minister of Visitation.

One of the hobbies that Pastors Dick & Gerry enjoy is hiking the Appalachian Trail. They have hiked over 600 miles of the 2100+ mile trail. Together they enjoy the up-close contact with God’s created world … yes, even snakes and other wildlife. There have been many interesting stories concerning the trail. The family also enjoys vacationing together at their cabin in Lycoming County.   Welcome to Hanover COB, Dick.
